Battling for First in Johnstown
This weekend sees the Rebels playing back-to-back games in Johnstown, in what is sure to be a huge weekend for both teams. Currently, the Rebels sit in second place in the Eastern division with 54 points, trailing the first place New Jersey Titans by four points. However, Johnstown is lingering closely behind in third place with 53 points, and they will surely be looking to make every effort to leapfrog the Rebels this weekend. The last time these two teams met, the Rebels handed the Tomahawks a 3-0 loss, in a game that saw Jerry Miettuten, Dean Balsamo, and Andrew Bellant post goals for Aston. The Rebels know that a huge four points sits on the table this weekend, and they will have to do everything in their power to not let them slip away.
The Latest on the Tomahawks
Last weekend the Tomahawks split a two game series with the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Knights – winning one game 6-2, and being shutout the next. Johnstown has been struggling to put together consistent efforts as of late, and it is something that the Rebels will have to use to their advantage. When they are on – look for top scorers Andrew Romano, Luke Lynch, and Casey Linkenheld to be firing on all cylinders any chance that they get.
Keys to a Winning Weekend
Last weekend the Rebels lost two in a row and fell out of their first place spot to the New Jersey Titans. The key to this weekend will be resiliency. They will have to shake off those losses and get right back to playing tough hockey, and fight for their first place spot back. If the Rebels can put last weekend behind them, and get in the heads of the inconsistent Tomahawks, then good things will certainly happen this weekend in Johnstown.
