Rebels Visit Danbury for Tuesday Afternoon Contest

DANBURY, CT – The Philadelphia Rebels (12-16-1-1, 26 pts) travel to face the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks (2-26-3-2, 9 pts) Tuesday afternoon.

Philadelphia enters after splitting a series at home to start 2023 against the Northeast Generals. In both games, the Rebels trailed by two goals early, but rallied to tie the game.

In Saturday’s win, they came back with three unanswered goals in the final 3:30 of the first period and never trailed again in a 7-4 win.

Connor Sedlak led the way with five points on the weekend, including three in Saturday’s win. He scored twice and added three assists in the series.

David Deputy scored his team-leading 11th goal in the empty net on Saturday to help ice the win after he scored the go-ahead goal on a penalty shot in the third period.

Tuesday will be the sixth meeting between the teams this season, with Philadelphia winning all five previous matchups. Three of those five have gone past regulation as Philadelphia has won twice in overtime and once in a shootout during the season series.

One of those overtime wins was in the last meeting on Dec. 19 in Danbury when Greg Spitznagel scored his second overtime game-winning goal of the season.
