Jamestown, NY – The Jamestown Rebels are pleased to announce the signing of forward Tyler Stern to a 2022-23 tender agreement.
“We’re very excited to tender Tyler,” said Rebels Assistant Coach Josh Brown. “Tyler is a great kid with a terrific motor and a relentless work ethic. His skill set and ability to compete combined together makes a great player which is really going to help our team.”
Stern, a 17 year-old native of Plainview, NY, has spent his last two years as a part of the Bishop Kearney Selects program. According to Elite Prospects, the 5’10 forward has tallied 24 goals and 34 assists for 58 points in 53 games so far this season at the 18U AAA level, and has also registered 3 goals in 12 games for Bishop Kearney’s NorthEast Pack 18U team. During the 2020-21 campaign, Stern put compiled 19 goals and 23 assists in 45 games at the 16U AAA level.
Stern himself expressed his excitement of joining the Rebels and the North American Hockey League.
“I’m really looking forward to the opportunity and challenge of playing and competing in one of the best leagues in North America,” said Stern. “I am beyond excited to become a part of the Rebels family and the city of Jamestown.”
Stern also cited what he plans on bringing to the table in a Rebels sweater moving forward.
“I’m going to bring great passion and competitiveness, a relentless work ethic, and a great attitude with me,” he continued. “I also can’t wait to make some big plays and look forward to contributing immediately. I love every aspect of the game and can’t wait to get started.”
