Rebels Tender Center Cameron Ricotta

Jamestown, NY – The Jamestown Rebels, proud members of the North American Hockey League, are pleased to announce the signing of center Cameron Ricotta to a 2020-2021 tender.

Ricotta, born not too far away from Jamestown in Cheektowaga, NY, is currently playing for Nichols High School in the Conference of Independent Schools Athletic Association, sitting with 17 points (7 goals, 10 assists) in 12 games played on the year. The 5’9, 165-pound left-shot center also amassed nearly a point per game last season with Nichols, putting up 8 points (3 goals, 5 assists) in 9 games played.

“Cam came down to skate with us a couple weeks ago and was really good,” said Rebels Head Coach/GM Joe Coombs. “We really felt with him that he brings a high-end skill element that we’re missing. That was the big thing from our standpoint, that his skill-set was an upgrade on what we have.”

While Ricotta’s talent on the ice was certainly intriguing for Coombs and his staff, his maturity off the ice and academic success helped make the decision to sign him that much easier.

“He had come down on his own to watch a game, took the time out of his own schedule to make the effort, and he made it known through his actions that he wanted to be here, which was very impressive to us,” continued Coombs. “He’s an Ivy League-grades kid, and those kids are the ones that like to learn and get better. We’re excited.”

Ricotta shares the same excitement of joining Jamestown next season.

“The decision was easy for me and my family because of how great the staff is and how much the organization has to offer for my development,” said Ricotta on his signing. “I am beyond excited to join the Rebels for the 2020-21 season.”
