Rebels Tender Defenseman Dakota Kott

Jamestown, NY – The Jamestown Rebels, proud members of the North American Hockey League, are pleased to announce the signing of defenseman Dakota Kott to a 2020-2021 tender.

Kott, an 18-year-old native of Hartland, MI, has spent the better part of the last two seasons playing for the Hartland High Eagles of the USHS-MI. During his time with the Eagles, Kott produced 42 points (15 goals, 27 assists) in 44 games played from 2018-2020. He also suited up for four games this year in the North American Prospects Hockey League, where he registered one assist.

Rebels Head Coach/GM Joe Coombs and his staff have been keeping tabs on Kott for quite some time and have liked what they’ve seen so far.

“He’s been somebody on our radar all along,” said Coombs regarding Kott. “Mike [Mondoux, Rebels Director of Scouting] went in to watch him this past weekend, and was supposed to go to another hockey game but decided to stay and watch him a second time, so we like what we see.” “He’s a great skater,” continued Coombs on Kott’s play. “He was with us here at [main] camp last year and we really liked him a lot. Very mobile, good hockey IQ, good skill set. He’s a first year player but he’s got big upside.

Kott, who captained the Eagles this past season, is also looking forward to continuing his career in Jamestown.

“I am honored and excited to be a part of the Jamestown Rebels organization,” said Kott. “I’m excited to take this next step in my hockey career. I look forward to creating a bond with the team, relationships with the staff, and to move into the community to get to know the people and area.”
