Rebels pick up forward Hart at trade deadline

Andrew Hart

The Aston Rebels bolstered their front line for the playoffs as the team acquired forward Andrew Hart from the Topeka Roadrunners at the North American Hockey League’s trade deadline this past Monday.

The Sellersville, PA native had 19 points (5 goals and 14 assists) in 25 games this season for the Roadrunners. This is his second year of junior hockey. Hart had 25 points (10 goals and 15 assists) in fifty eight games for Topeka last year. The 5’11”, 183 lb forward is a left-handed shot. Prior to the Roadrunners, Hart played 18U for the Jr. Flyers (West Chester, PA) Tier 1 Elite team.

“Andrew provides depth to our team” stated Rebels head coach Joe Coombs. “He is a quality person, good teammate and isn’t afraid to mix it up. We look forward to having him” concluded Coombs.

“I’m excited to be back home” said Hart. “I’m glad to be on a team that has a real chance of winning the Robertson Cup. I feel that my fast and physical style along with my play making abilities will help the Rebels go far in the playoffs” concluded Hart.

Hart, who will be wearing number 12, could possibly play either this upcoming weekend against Johnstown or probably next weekend against the Northeast Generals.
