The North American Hockey League announced today its monthly player awards for the month of March and the Rebels’ Carson Moniz was named runner up for defenseman of the month while Aaron Maguyon was named honorable mention for forward of the month.
Moniz had twelve points (4 goals and 8 assists) in March, the most of any Rebel. The London, ON native leads all Rebels defensemen with 30 points (11 goals and 19 assists). He also has a team best +/- ratio of +17.
This is the fourth team this season that Moniz has been recognized for weekly/monthly honors: honorable mention for weeks ending January 7, March 4 and March 18.
Maguyon lead all Rebel forwards with ten points (6 goals and 4 assists) in March; he also had the most goals. The Egg Harbor Twp., NJ native leads the team in total points with fifty (24 goals and 26 assists). He also has scored the most goals on the team.
Maguyon was recently named the team’s Best Offensive Player.
This is the eighth time Maguyon has been recognized for weekly/monthly honors: Second Star of the week – November 5; honorable mention for weeks ending November 19, February 4 and February 11. He was named honorable mention for November, December and February forward of the month.
