Hanson Named NAHL's East Star of the Week

With the Rebels winning three out of four games and scoring 14 goals during that span, goaltender Darion Hanson was the backbone of the team. During this past weekend’s games against the Kenai River Brown Bears, Hanson faced a total of 67 shots in two games and stopped 62 of them for a .925% save percentage. On Friday, he made 39 saves in a 5-3 win over the Brown Bears. Then on Saturday he allowed just two goals and made 23 saves in the 7-2 win. The team has yet to lose when Hanson has been between the pipes, posting a 7-0-0 record. During the month of October he went 6-0 with a 2.26 goals against average and had a .923% save percentage. “Darion has been really solid” stated head coach Joe Coombs. “His demeanor for a young kid is exceptional. He really has been our best of late. We as a team have been real good and not so good but he has been our one constant” concluded Coombs.

Hanson’s teammate, defenseman Ryan Solomon, was named 2nd star of the week for November 2nd.
