Caleb Price commits to ASU

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Jamestown, New York – Jamestown Rebels are pleased to announce that Caleb Price has committed to Arizona State University (ASU), effective 2020-2021.

Caleb becomes the third player to commit to play at the collegiate level this season for the Rebels. The 18-year-old New Hampshire native will be traveling to the west coast in two years to become a Sun Devil. The 5’10” 165lb left-handed defenseman has played 19 games for the Rebels this season, recording one goal and nine assists. Price has played 152 games in his career, tallying 17 goals and 49 assists.

Just two years ago Price won the EJEPL 16U (Platinum) Championship while with the Northern Cyclones. Caleb was drafted #118 overall by the Rebels in the 2018 draft. This is his first season in the NAHL and is already proving himself in “the league of opportunity”. ASU has a long history of having Rebels players come through their program. They currently have three former Aston Rebels on their roster, along with one player from when the team was in Rio Grande Valley. In 2014 the Sun Devils won the National Championship for the ACHA Tournament. They are currently ranked 15th in the country with a 12-6 record.

Caleb had this to say about committing to ASU, “I am very excited to be committed to Arizona State. After my visit I knew it was the school I wanted to go to”. Price also added this, “I cannot thank the Rebels enough for everything they have done for me so far. I know they will help me improve my game to be ready for the D1 level”.

Head Coach Joe Coombs spoke very highly of the young defenseman by stating, “Caleb is an amazing young man with a very bright future. An elite skater with the ability to defend and break pucks out with the best recruitable players in the country”. Coombs also stated that “It has been a privilege to coach such an eager young man that’s passion for the game and life is second to none. ASU has gotten a good one”.
