Finstrom named East Division second star of the week; Fyre is honorable mention

The North American Hockey League announced its Bauer Divisional Stars of the Week for week ending April 8 and Rebels forward Noah Finstrom was named the East Division’s second star of the week while fellow forward Alex Frye was selected as honorable mention.

Finstrom had four points (1 goal and 3 assists) in three games this past week. The New Baltimore, MI native had three points (1 goal and 2 assists) in last Wednesday’s win against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights and he had an assist – along with Frye – on Ryan Patrick’s game winning goal at the buzzer in Friday night’s win against the Johnstown Tomahawks.

Despite being out most of the season to a freakish injury, Finstrom has played in fifteen games and has a total of five points (1 goal and 4 assists).

This is the first time Finstrom has received league honors during the season.

Frye had four points (2 goals and 2 assists) as well this past week. He had three points (2 goals and 1 assist) in the 7 – 1 win over the Knights and the assist on Patrick’s goal.

Frye is tied for sixth on the team in total points with thirty (11 goals and 19 assists. This is the third time this season the Clarkston, MI native has received league honors: December 3 – honorable mention, and January 14 – second star of the week.

Keane named East Division Star of the Week; Zerban is honorable mention

The North American Hockey League announced its Bauer Divisional Stars of the Week for week ending March 11 and Rebels goaltender Ryan Keane was named the East Division’s star of the week while forward Jensen Zerban was named honorable mention.

Keane had a 2 – 0 record with both wins as a 3 – 0 shutout over the visiting Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights. He faced a total of 38 shots. They were Keane’s second and third shutouts on the season. “Ryan had not played in the last six games and for him to play the way he did was fantastic” stated Rebels head coach Joe Coombs. “He made some big stops against Grade A opportunities early in the game on Friday night when we really needed it,” conclude Coombs.

It was the second time in team history that a Rebels goaltender recorded consecutive shutouts in the same weekend.

Keane is second in the league in goals against average with 1.74% and fourth in the league in save percentage with .930. This is the second time Keane was named East Division player of week. He earned the same award back on December 17. He also was the NAHL’s goalie of the month for October and was named honorable mention for November, December and January.

Zerban had three points (all assists) this past weekend. He had a point in Friday night’s game in two in Saturday night’s contest. The Air Force Academy commit is fourth on the team in total points with 35 (16 goals and 19 assists). This is the first time this season Zerban has received league recognition for a weekly award. He was honorable mention for his position for September and October.

Moniz and Peck named honorable mention for NAHL Weekly Awards

The North American Hockey League announced it Bauer Divisional Stars of the Week for week ending March 4 and Rebels defenseman Carson Moniz and forward Adam Peck were named honorable mention for the East Division.

Moniz had an assist on each of the Rebels two goals this past Friday night in the team’s overtime victory against the Titans. The London, ON native is second among all Rebels’ defenseman in points with nineteen (6 goals and 13 assists). He leads the team with a +16. This is the second time Moniz has received league honors. He was named the East Division’s star of the week for week ending January 7.

Peck scored the winning goal just twenty-two seconds into overtime against the Titans on Friday. It was his team high fifth game winning goal on the season. The Williston, VT native is fifth on the team in total points (13 goals and 13 assists).  He was the East Division’s second star of the week for week ending January 28.

Patrick named East Division’s second star of the week; Glynn is honorable mention

The North American Hockey League announced its Bauer Divisional Stars of the Week for week ending February 25 and Rebels captain Ryan Patrick was named the East Division’s second star of the week while teammate Jimmy Glynn was honorable mention.

Patrick had five points (2 goals and 3 assists) in three games this past week, including a four-point game (1 goal and 3 assists) in Saturday night’s 4 – 0 win over the New Jersey Titans. The Morgantown, WV native is third on the team in total points with thirty-five (17 goals and 18 assists). He is currently participating in the league’s Top Prospects Tournament. This is the fifth time this season that Patrick has recognized by the league. He was honorable mention for forward of the month for January and he was honorable mention for star of the week for February 4, January 7 and November 19.

Glynn had two points (both goals) in three games. Both of his goals came in this past Friday night’s game against the Titans. The 2000 birth year from Lemont, IL has eleven points on the season (6 goals and 5 assists). This is the second time Glynn was selected honorable mention. The first time was week ending January 21.

Appendino selected as East Division’s second star of the week; Stanley is honorable mention

The North American Hockey League announced its Bauer Divisional Stars of the Week for weekending February 18 and Rebels defenseman Nico Appendino was named the East Division’s second star while forward Brandon Stanley was honorable mention.

Appendino, who has been with the team for a little over a month, had two points last week, an assist in each Rebels win. The Kempten, Germany native has four points (all assists) in twelve games. This is the first time the highly skilled defenseman has been recognized by the league.

Stanley had three points (2 goals and 1 assist). He scored a goal in each of the Rebels wins. Stanley is fifth on the team in total points with twenty-four (14 goals and 10 assists). This is the third time that Stanley was named honorable mention, which included weeks ending October 15 and December 3.

Maguyon and Radetic named honorable mention for NAHL’s East Division Star of the Week

The North American Hockey League has announced its Bauer Divisional Stars of the Week for week ending February 11 and Rebels forwards Aaron Maguyon and Luke Radetic were named honorable mention for the East Division.

Maguyon had two points (1 goal and 1 assist) in last Wednesday’s shootout win over New Jersey. He also scored a goal for the Rebels in the shootout. Maguyon is now second on the team in total points with thirty-eight (17 goals and 21 assists). This is the second straight week he has been named honorable mention. He also earned the same accolades for week ending November 19.  Maguyon was selected honorable mention for the NAHL’s forward of the month for November and December. He also was the East Division’s second star of the week for week ending November 5.

Immediately following his trade from the Brown Bears, Radetic had an assist in his only game as a Rebel but he also scored the game winning goal in the shootout against the Titans. Including his statistics from Keani River, the Chesterfield, MO native has forty-one points (22 goals and 19 assists) in forty-three games.

Maguyon and Patrick named honorable mention for East Division’s player of the week

The North American Hockey League announced its Bauer Divisional Stars of the Week for week ending February 4 and Rebels forwards Aaron Maguyon and Ryan Patrick were named honorable mention for the East Division.  This is the second time this season both players were named honorable mention together. The first time was for weekending November 19.

Maguyon had six points (3 goals and 3 assists) during this past weekend’s three game series against the Northeast Generals. He recorded his second hat trick on the season and a total of five points in Friday’s 8 – 1 win. “Mags” leads the team in total points with thirty-six (16 goals and 20 assists) and goals with sixteen. Maguyon was selected honorable mention for the NAHL’s forward of the month for November and December. He also was the East Division’s second star of the week for week ending November 5.

Patrick had four points (2 goals and 2 assists) over the weekend. “Rypat” is third on the team in total points with twenty-eight (14 goals and 14 assists). He was recently named honorable mention for the NAHL’s forward of the month for January. He was honorable mention for player of the week for week ending January 7.

Peck selected East Division’s second star of the week while Olson is honorable mention

The North American Hockey League announced its Bauer Divisional Stars of the Week for weekending January 28 and Rebels forward Adam Peck was selected as the East Division’s second star of the week while teammate Eric Olson was named honorable mention.

Peck had three points (2 goals and 1 assist) in the Rebels two game sweep over the New Jersey Titans this past weekend, including the game winning goal in Friday night’s 2 – 1 victory. The Williston, VT native is fifth on the team in total points with twenty-two (11 goals and 11 assists).

Olson had two points in two games. He assisted Peck on both of his goals. The Calgary, AB native has eleven points on the season (6 goals and 5 assists).

Glynn and Vegara named honorable mention for NAHL East Division weekly awards

The North American Hockey League announced it Bauer Divisional Stars of the Week for weekending January 21 and Rebels forward Jimmy Glynn and defenseman Kolby Vegara were named honorable mention for the East Division.

Glynn scored his first NAHL goal in Saturday’s 4 – 1 win over Johnstown. The Lemont, IL native has six points on the season (1 goal and 5 assists). This is Glynn’s first year of junior hockey.

Vegara had three points (1 goal and 2 assists) during this past weekend, including the Rebels first goal in Saturday’s victory. The Boston, MA native has fifteen points (4 goals and 11 assists) on the season with a +11 +/- ratio.

Frye named NAHL’s East Division’s second star of the week while Bellant is honorable mention

The North American Hockey League announced its Bauer Divisional Stars of the Week and Rebels forward Alex Frye was named the East Division’s second star of the week while teammate Andrew Bellant was named honorable mentioned.

Frye had a goal and two assists in this past Saturday’s 6- 1 win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights. The Clarkston, MI native has sixteen points (7 goals and 9 assists) on the season. This is the second time this season that Frye received league honors. He was honorable mention for week ending December 3.

Like Frye, Bellant had a goal and two assists in this past Saturday’s win. The Michigan Tech commit has twenty-two points (9 goals and 13 assists) on the season. This is the third time Bellant has been recognized by the league. He was named honorable mention for weeks ending October 8 and December 17.
